PEPS Training on CD
This CD-based course provides an introduction and overview to the functionality of the PEPS application. Each course module reviews those procedures that are necessary to help you become familiar with the application and improve your your proficiency while using it.
In this course, we will review accessing the application, reviewing the various rating and ranking tables, reports, summaries and analyses, and create user defined reports and charts to compare E&P criteria for different regimes around the world.
Module 1-Access and Overview starts by accessing the application from the energy section of the IHS website. The hyperlinked topics on the homepage are reviewed. An overview of each of the application modules, which can be accessed from the homepage, is provided.
Module 2-Ratings & Rankings Index is used to analyze the attractiveness of E&P investment in a country. We will cover displaying different tables, changing the criteria displayed in a table and changing the variables that affect ranking criteria.
Module 3-Legal, Fiscal & Contractual Terms Module we will access and review various legal documents, forms, summaries and comparisons pertaining to legislation, regulations, and fiscal & non-fiscal contractual terms as they apply to E&P operations around the world. Using the homepage toolbar buttons, we will learn to create reports and conduct country and regional searches for information.
Module 4-Environmental Terms we will access and review information relating to environmental legislation, policies and key national and international regulatory requirements.
Module 5a-Business Environment Module Part One the Business Environment Module identifies and analyzes political and commercial risks that can affect exploration and production throughout the world. Part One covers the Political Risk Analysis, Political Risk Rankings and Transaction Anaysis subjects.
Module 6b-Business Environment Module Part Two reviews the Awards Analysis, Key Contacts, Background Data and E&P Cost Analysis subjects within the Business Environment Module.
Module 7-E&P Statistics Module analyzes historical trends for key exploration and production data in over 180 countries. We will access various tables and comparison charts utilizing country and company data searches.
