SubPUMP®
|
The industry’s only vendor neutral ESP design and analysis application with equipment data
The independent source for ESP design and analysis When designing a new Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) installation or evaluating an existing one, your goal is the same: to maximize well system efficiency and minimize total cost per barrel of production. SubPUMP® from IHS helps you achieve both. Because we set the bar for ESP design and analysis, vendors and users in 45 countries have come to rely on the world’s most trusted esp application.
Flexibility with three design modes With three different design modes, SubPUMP® offers you the flexibility to handle the most common scenarios encountered in ESP design requirements. For a rigorous design, enter a comprehensive set of reservoir, fluid and wellbore information. When you have limited data about your fluid or reservoir, you can use the quick design method. However if you have an existing ESP well, you can analyze the production performance of the well more efficiently and quickly.
Key features that set SubPUMP apart: Accurate PVT and viscosity calculations for fluids and emulsion lead to correct design and more productive wells. SubPUMP® has PVT correlations to handle a range of fluids starting from heavy oil to gassy oil wells.
Design and analysis of existing installations - SubPUMP® remains unique in its ability to handle existing ESP installations by allowing you to cross-check ESP vendor design. By taking the whole well system -- not only the equipment but also the wellbore configuration and reservoir potential into consideration -- you achieve the most effective design possible. Flexibility in design calculations - Solve for either pump intake pressure, flow rate or pump depth. You can also evaluate the production performance by changing other parameters such as variable frequency, gas oil ratio (GOR), water cut, and more.

Other powerful capabilities - SubPUMP® also includes correlations to handle gas at pump intake and changes in fluids column due to gas. SubPUMP provides case studies to compare different equipment. You can virtually match any unit system in the world whether it be international metrics or US oil fields. You have the ability to add or modify pumps and motors into the SubPUMP database. You can also design dual ESP-Gas lift installations.

Some solutions that SubPUMP can provide:
- Performance analysis of existing pumps
- Designing a tapered pump configuration
- Simulating gassy wells with an esp
Time-tested, cost-effective solution - SubPUMP has been field-tested for over a decade. Companies worldwide have come to rely on it as the most neutral program of choice for ESP design and analysis.
