Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Production Performance Study

2004 Upgrade: 30% More Fields and 24 Additional Months of Production Data

Continuing with our ground-breaking series of Gulf of Mexico Production Performance studies, IHS, PetroSolutions Ltd. and Petroleum Geo-Services have significantly upgraded our benchmark Deepwater GOM study, released two years ago. This study includes a new, dynamic interactive database designed for engineers and geologists, as well as M&A strategy teams and new ventures executives.

All 72 deepwater fields, including 27 new ones, have been analyzed, and we have added nearly 60 new wells, 1,600+ more tests, 84 new completions and 24 additional months of production data. Our update also covers deepwater depositional environments across the play, not just for current completions, giving you the industry's most detailed knowledge set of log profiles associated with GOM sheet sands, channel levees and channel sands.

By using this study and database, you can find out how to:

  • See analysis of ALL production in the deepwater GOM by field and by reservoir
  • Target poor well performers and suggest possible reasons for that poor performance
  • See an independent assessment of OIP and EUR for deepwater reservoirs
  • Gain a full independent of deliverability and recovery potential by depositional facies and hydrocarbon phase to improve operational efficiency
  • Quickly and easily monitor the competition's success or problems by field
  • Conduct your own analysis using the complete package of logs used in this study

Another considerable enhancement is the addition of AVO analysis for 30 selected wells and 3D seismic wavelet extractions. These are tied to well log-derived synthetics for select deepwater reservoirs. By using the newest geophysical methods available, this study will aid your E&P team as they validate and identify the seismic response of reservoir targets at depth amongst the various age trends under different depths, pressures, temperatures and fluid types.

This comprehensive study is provided in both a digital file and two hard-copy binders and includes a detailed bibliography of technical articles. The digital file is deployed in an Access® database and produced on CD-ROM.

Helps in understanding peak rates and volume; assists with field delineation, drilling, facilities planning and abandonment.
