Spatial Layers
Maps are the historic standard for E&P planning activities. Now, ESRI offers products that allow many data sources to be integrated into a single digital map. Using ESRI's ArcGIS technology, IHS can deliver spatial layers of O&G data to your organization. Spatial layers are commercially available using IHS data or we can customize layers to meet your specific requests, easily and economically.
Simply stated, spatial layers (ArcSDE layers) are a cartographic representation of related database features such as well data, production entities, basins, or fields in your GIS.
Spatial layers from IHS are made up of three components:
- Business table (attribute data)
- Feature table (location information)
- Spatial index table This spatial information can be accessed, displayed, and queried either from desktop applications such as ESRI's ArcMAP or from a Web browser using ESRI's ArcIMS.
