Meet Your Petroleum Engineers With PERFORM, SubPUMP, and PipeSoft-2

Your product team includes engineers with a wide variety of expertise in the oil and gas petroleum industry.  Jasmine and Desheng participate in industry events including speaking engagements and writing industry papers.  Below is an introduction:

Hong (Jasmine) Yuan, Ph.D.
Principal Petroleum Engineer

Jasmine Yuan joined IHS in 1998 and is currently a principal petroleum engineer. Her job responsibilities involve development and maintenance of software such as Pipesoft-2, PERFORM and SubPUMP. Her areas of expertise include multiphase flow modeling and measurement, horizontal well production, computational fluid dynamics, turbulence modeling, heat and mass transfer and fluid rheology.

Jasmine Yuan holds a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa. She is a member of SPE and also serves as a technical paper reviewer for ASME journal of Energy Resources Technology. Jasmine was a research associate at the Tulsa University Fluid Flow Projects before joining IHS.

Below is a list of her recent publications:

April 4-8, 2009, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Society of Petroleum Engineers

Desheng Zhou, Ph. D.
Principal Engineer

Desheng Zhou currently works as the principal petroleum engineer at IHS located in Dallas, TX.  He serves as the principal architect for production engineering solutions (a suite of analytical tools for Nodal analysis, artificial lift and gathering system modeling).  His area of expertise includes design and optimization of production / injection wells including artificial lift; gas well deliquification; completion design and inflow modeling. He also worked with deviated, horizontal, and multi-lateral wells producing under multiphase flow conditions.

Desheng has over 20 years engineering experience in oil and gas industry and has published over 30 technical papers. He has graduated from Louisiana State University with a Ph. D. in petroleum engineering. He is the associate editor of the Journal of Energy Resources Technology. He is also a member of SPE and ASME and serves as technical reviewers for journals of SPE Production Operation, Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering (JPSE) and Journal of Energy Resource Technology (JERT). In the past, he was also nominated in the judge panel at TEXAS A & M University for the Ph.D. student paper contest.
