Powerful GIS Desktop Tool to Map, View and Analyze - Probe™
|
Probe, is an integrated, desktop, GIS application that gives you the power and speed to access, view and analyze IHS's Exploration and Production database, in a PC environment.
Probe is used in all aspects of international exploration including scoping studies, mergers and acquisitions, the search for partners, competitor analysis, geological studies for identifying areas of hydrocarbon potential, data collection in initial screening and detailed evaluation. You can also use Probe to examine current and historical company involvement in an area, to conduct yet-to-find analyses for basins, and to review exploration activity, previous discoveries, reservoir characteristics and surveys by year. |

GIS
Probe contains an integrated Geographical Information System (GIS) - a powerful spatial analysis tool that saves you time and money by creating sophisticated maps quickly and simply. You also have the ability to query multiple data types, and then incorporate that data into a map for further analysis.
Enhanced query system
ProbE allows you to set preference parameters for most data attributes, so you can develop sophisticated queries in seconds and retrieve the information precisely.
Spreadsheet output
You can extract the information you need quickly and simply using a variety of output options, including over 60 pre-defined Excel spreadsheets and an ad-hoc spreadsheet builder tool.
Probe graphs
Probe contains over 30 graphs, which provide a wide range of investigative routes for historical analysis and risk assessment. Drilling and Discovery statistics, Creaming Curves, Production Histories and Company Analyses can all be generated in a matter of seconds.
Probe data forms
Probe data forms present all available information for your selected entity. This data is represented in spreadsheet, text, graphics and images. One of the major benefits of the data forms is that they are highly relational - you can view related entities at the click of a button.
Advanced Data Package and Software Options
Subscribe to our optional database or software enhancements for the increased flexibility. Options include Basin database with scanned images and Basin monitor text reports, as well as Midstream database and the monthly production database. The Basin database can also be enhanced with a subscription to the BASE software option.
BASE - a Probe snap-on
BASE is the first tool to enable visualization of geological processes and basin evolution in a coherent way. The tool provides a platform to query, compare and analyze geological data from IHS's Basin database. All information for evaluating source, reservoir and trap formation is stored as a consistent data set. The user can modify or add information through interactive screens and new interpretations can be saved. Sophisticated queries allow querying of basins worldwide to identify analogous geological conditions, processes and events.
