IHS Gas Pressure Test Data and Image

Critical diagnostic information for AB, B.C. and SK

IHS is the leading source providing gas pressure test data available for all three Western provinces, giving clients a competitive edge. This dataset includes basic well information such as test date, pressures, temperatures, shut-in period, flow rate, flow duration, test type and other information on nearly 300,000 individual tests. IHS has built the primary Saskatchewan gas pressure digital database in the industry with excellent functional coverage and has collected this data directly from original source documents.

The test data helps identify reservoir characteristics relating to future performance, compare pressure points to see if wells are producing from the same reservior, monitor pressure conditions for signs of depletion and make well abandonment decisions regarding timing and safety. This data source provides critical diagnostic information about a particular reservoir to measure performance, create forward projections, and determine drive mechanisms.

IHS Gas Pressure Test Image captures all current and hsitorical pressure and deliverability data directly from the provincial government regulatory agency to provide source production tests, gradients, absolute open flows, acoustic well sounder, fluid analyses, drill stem tests and more in PAS, GIF, TIF or PDF format.

Determine:

  • Which test samples you believe are most valid
  • If a reservoir is near depletion
  • How long you can safely and economically produce from a well
  • If a well is sweet or sour, and whether you need an emergency response plan
  • Your compressibility factor
Gas Analyses & Pressures module The same information you use and trust for AB & B.C.

Key features include:

  • Select individual pools to quickly see their geographic locations and statistics
  • Get a list of pools and key information such as wells drilled and production totals using the most recent data available from the ERCB, SIR or OGC
  • Locate pools from a large area and see exactly what’s happening; determine if there’s bypassed pay or take a first look at a new area
  • Use the inspect icon to outline different fields on the map, then pull up information on the field. Quickly see:
    • Average well spacing
    • Recovery to date
    • Quickly create group production plots and well lists
    • Current production rates
    • GOR and WGR
    • Pool core statistic
