Deep-water Gulf of Mexico Wilcox Play:
A New Paradigm for the Gulf Coast Paleogene

The Wilcox Group is the second most significant petroleum reservoir in the onshore Gulf Coast region with cumulative production, mostly of natural gas, of approximately 42 trillion cubic feet of gas equivalent (TCFGE).  The impacts of this new play have a global reach for the deepwater frontier.  View an abstract from this study and read about the "Whopper Sand" discovery.

All issues of Petroleum Frontiers present detailed information not available from any other single source.  Each issue examines selected hydrocarbon provinces or horizons in the initial phases of discovery and development. Key elements include:

  • Stratigraphic and structural analyses
  • Mineralogy
  • Drilling/discovery history
  • Production/reservoir characteristics
  • Leasing history and outlook
  • Unique exploration and production problems and opportunities
  • Charts, maps, and cross sections supplement the technical discussions

Over many years, we have developed a library of more than 80 issues of Petroleum Frontiers.  Issues range from 50 to 80 pages including as many as 60 illustrations.  Bibliographies provide a wealth of additional source information.
