FAQs - PEPS
Questions answered in this document:
Q. What is PEPS?
A. PEPS is a collection of fiscal, economic and commercial data and analysis applicable to the upstream oil and gas explorer under four broad categories; Legal, Fiscal & Contractual Terms; Environmental Terms; Business Environment and E & P Statistics. Within these categories there are over 20 sub-modules, each covering a different aspect of upstream economics and policy issues.

Q. What advantage does PEPS offer over the use of a standard library of laws and contracts?
A. The main advantage of our service is that the user does not have to spend valuable time going through extensive legislation to work out which parts of the legislation directly affect their operation. Our analysis has already done this for them. At relevant points within each report there are links to the actual laws and contracts database provided in a separate sub-module.
The analysis also alerts the user to areas where legislation may be vague or allow a greater degree of negotiation, in addition to where it may directly contradict other legislation.

Q. What is the current version of PEPS?
A. Since PEPS is a web-based product, it does not have a specific version number. It is constantly evolving, and the technology we use allows us to make changes immediately and on-the-fly without having to re-version the product.
