Research Assistant Overview

The Research Assistant provides a quick and easy way to search for data using several
methods at once.  


Gulf of Mexico Research Assistant

Searches can be done by entering an API List, Well List and by selecting Blocks.  The Research Assistant will use all of the input criteria to create a Well Report of available log data.  When all criteria have been entered click the start button on the bottom right to generate your Well Report.

If you would like to start over and clear you search just click the clear button on the bottom left.

If you prefer to select your wells from our map search click the GOM Map button and the map will popup zoomed to the Gulf of Mexico.

API List

Enter or paste a list of 12 Digit APIs into the API List box.


Select whether you want all associated boreholes to be returned or exact matches by choosing the correct radio button.

Well List

Enter offshore or state leases into the Well List box. 

Federal Lease Numbers are of the form:

G #####
OCSG #####
OCS-G -#####

Where # is the numeric lease .

Example: G01361

State Lease Numbers are of the form SL #, where # is the numeric lease .

Example: SL 1353

Area Selection

To view the available blocks in an area click on an areas in the Area Selection box.

Block Selection

To add blocks to your search click on a block in the Block Selection box.

Block List

Blocks in the Block List will be used as part of the criteria of your search. To remove any blocks from the Block List just click on it.

Well Report

The Well Report shows the available log data for the wells that match all your search criteria.

The plus sign   indicates that the particular data type is available for purchase.  If you click on the plus sign it will expand the data types and show the description of the information.  The plus signs in the gray header bar will expand that particular data type for each well that has it available.  The column headers can be clicked on and the Well Report will be resorted to that column.

The Indicates that this well is considered a new release well under our pricing guidelines.

After expanding the wells you can click on the checkboxes to select data types for purchase. After selecting data types you can click the Add Selections to Cart located at the top right and bottom right of the well report.

When you are ready to complete your purchase click the Checkout button located at the top right and bottom right of the well report.
Reviews your order

If you would like to map the wells to view surrounding boreholes click the Map Wells button located at the top right and bottom right of the well report.

If you would like to download a list of wells (summary or detailed) click the Download List button located at the top right and bottom right of the well report.

If you would like to filter your results by depth and/or log types click the Filter Agent button located at the top right and bottom right of the well report.

If you would like to start a new search click the New Search button located at the top right and bottom right of the well report.

If you would like to bookmark this well report the click the book icon located at the top right and bottom right of the well report.

Data types currently available include DIGITAL DATA (LAS or LIS format), EDITED DATA* (LAS or LIS format), IMAGES (TIFF format), DR IMAGE (Depth Registered TIFFs), PRINTS and DIRECTIONAL SURVEYS (Multiple formats available).
