Environment Reference Layers
Alberta and British Columbia environmental data layers in ready-to-use formats.
IHS has compiled a variety of environmental, restricted-use and surface boundary data in our Environmental Reference Layers dataset. These layers originate from a variety of sources, and are useful for geophysical planning, pipeline route selection, environmental assessment and most other field activities.
Access to IHS environmental data allows for more effective surface and environmental contexts in relation to your company's Drilling Operations and Environmental Assessments/Impact Reports.
Environmental Layers Environmental reference layers include key information such as watercourse crossing, critical wildlife, areas restricted to exploration, resource management zones, trapper boundaries and wetlands. IHS compiles, corrects and continually updates the environment layers as new information becomes available.
One Single Source The IHS Environmental reference layers are a compilation of environmental reference data layers from a variety of different sources that have been bundled as one package. In some cases, IHS has digitized unique digital layers including Critical Wildlife and Water Crossing Restricted areas.

Flexible Deliveries The consolidated layers are distributed within IHS applications (AccuMap, Enerdeq Desktop and EGIS) through our IHS Information Hub, and in various GIS formats (GIS-Ready datasets) in both NAD27 and NAD83 datums.
