AltaLIS 20K Base Culture Data & Surface Contours Data

See the most surface information you can

As the agent for Spatial Data Warehouse, Ltd., AltaLIS has the responsibility of making Alberta’s base mapping infrastructure more available, accessible, accurate and affordable. Their culture and digital elevation data provides you a good appreciation of the surface features and topography for a potential area, and enables you to foresee challenges you may face when tying in wells to existing production infrastructure.

The AltaLIS 1:20,000 detailed Alberta culture has an accuracy level of within +/-5 meters, so you can efficiently perform Emergency Response Plan mapping with the level of detailed culture provided—easily see trails, primary and secondary highways, lakes, rivers and streams. Alberta coverage is at 2684 completed digital files.

The Alberta Contour data is derived from the digital elevation model. Contours are spaced at 10m spacing (20m in the mountain regions), and this data is accurate to +/- 5 m for X & Y, +/- 3m for Z. Absolute is determined by ASCM markers. Relative depends on the terrain.

The AltaLIS 1:20,000 Alberta culture layer and digital contour layer in AccuMap and Enerdeq Desktop both utilize the National Topographic System (NTS) naming convention. A 1:50 000 identifier is divided into quadrants.
