The first tender round of the Indonesia Petroleum Bidding Round 2008 is to be opened in June, followed by a second round that will kick off in October. Some 28 blocks are to be offered, 17 in the first round and 11 in the second, many of which will be in the under-explored eastern portion of Indonesia. The following areas are to be featured: North Aceh/Andaman Sea Area; Central Sumatra; Lampung Area; North East Java Sea; North Bali; North Sumbawa; South and Central Kalimantan; South Makassar Strait; North Makassar Strait; East Kalimantan; Tomini Bay; Palopo-Luwu; Bone Bay; Buton; Manul; Tolo Bay; Maluku Sea; Seram Sea; Kamrau Bay; Kal Island; Arafura Sea; North Papua.
