HLJOC tests 8,100 bo/d at seventh TGT appraisal - Vietnam
Successful appraisal by HLJOC of the Te Giac Trang (White Rhinoceros) field in the Cuu Long Basin continues, with a seventh well tested for a combined 8,100 bo/d during two drillstem tests. The TGT-7X appraisal tested the separate, previously untested H3N fault block on Block 16-1. A drillstem test of the lower section of the Lower Miocene ILBH5.2 between 2,922.5m and 3,002.5m, measured depth, yielded 7,100 bo/d and 5.9 MMcfg/d, with no water. The second test, in a net interval of 13m between 2,754m and 2,773m of the upper section of the Lower Miocene ILBH5.2 flowed 1,000 bo/d and 500 Mcfg/d. The TGT-7X well was drilled by the GlobalSantaFe "Adriatic XI" J/U, which has reached the end of its contract and will now be released. HLJOC is looking for another rig to drill the TGT-8X appraisal. Approval for the field development plan is anticipated in late 2008. To date, seven wells have been drilled in the TGT field, averaging about 11,300 boe/d. The TGT field comprises five fault blocks extending over 15km on a north-to-south trend line along the eastern portion of Block 16-1.
