IHS Sells iNodes™ Line of Wireless Sensors to Ferguson Beauregard

Oilfield Equipment Manufacturer Will Work With IHS to Deliver Complete Solution

HOUSTON (July 11, 2006) – IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a global provider of integrated oil and gas information, software and consulting services, announced today it has sold its iNodes™ line of wireless sensors to Ferguson Beauregard of Tyler, Texas, a leading manufacturer of oilfield equipment including wellhead automation tools, control systems and plunger-lift products. Ferguson Beauregard is part of the Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV).

IHS launched the iNodes line in 2004 as an extension to its popular FieldDIRECT® service, which was launched in 1999.  IHS is retaining its traditional FieldDIRECT services, which use hand-held PDAs to transmit daily production data to an online hosting center where well operators can log on for reports and analysis.  The iNodes line added the option to use automated monitoring, instead of hand-entered measurements, for that daily transmission.

"The iNodes technology has delivered affordable automated monitoring for both old and new wells that would not previously have been candidates for automation due to the high cost,” said Bob Stevenson, general manager, Production Solutions for the energy operating segment of IHS. “However, from a strategic perspective, our core competency is delivering critical information to our clients and not design, manufacturing and support of oilfield equipment.  We believe a better way to widely implement these innovative products and provide value to our customers is to sell the technology to a company like Ferguson Beauregard, which specializes in the manufacturing and field service of oilfield equipment and automation.”

“By advancing the benefits of field monitoring systems for everyday wells, IHS has been an innovator with this technology,” said Jack Rogers, president of Ferguson Beauregard. “Our automation division has the design, manufacturing and service capabilities to expand this offering and take it to the next level, so we feel it is a good fit for both the company and our clients.”
Stevenson agreed, “Ferguson Beauregard has a solid reputation and a robust service organization that will continue to service these devices for existing iNodes clients. We expect our clients will embrace this decision, since they will not only have an expanded service organization at their disposal, but Ferguson Beauregard will continue to work with IHS to meet the mutual needs of clients who want to use FieldDIRECT hosting and production reporting capabilities, but prefer iNodes technologies as the data collection mechanism.”
