IHS Energy Acquires Ensight Information Services
PipesWest™ database addition expands and enhances overall pipeline offering

CALGARY (Wednesday, December 15, 2004) – IHS Energy, the global source of oil and gas information, analytical software and consulting services announced today that IHS Energy has acquired Ensight Information Services (Ensight) of Calgary, Alberta. Since 1981, Ensight has served Canadian oil and gas service, surveying and pipeline companies with pipeline mapping, software and data solutions.

“The acquisition of Ensight’s PipesWest database, a GIS database of high-pressure pipelines in Western Canada, along with Ensight’s environmental and surface datasets and EGIS software, is very complimentary to our suite of data and software products,” says Chris Jones, President, IHS Energy (Canada). “The PipesWest database enhances the depth and breadth of our current pipeline offering with our existing pipeline data partner, GeoMatics Data Management (GDM). Over time we will integrate the EGIS software and the PipesWest database to create the industry’s premier pipeline offering; which will be accessible from the AccuMap desktop and on-line via the IHS Energy (Canada) HUB.”
