IHS Energy Canada and Rapid Technology Corporation Form Strategic Alliance - Union Will Deliver Critical Well-test Data to AccuMap™ Desktop

CALGARY (Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003) – IHS Energy, the global source of oil and gas information, analytical software and consulting services, announced today that IHS Energy Canada has signed a strategic alliance with Rapid Technology Corporation (“Rapid”) of Calgary , Alberta . The alliance will provide Rapid's comprehensive well-test data to AccuMap users, enabling quicker reservoir analysis and further enhancing the convenience and value that AccuMap brings to its users.

“We're excited about this exclusive new alliance because it means more than 6,500 AccuMap users will have desktop access to Rapid's unique well-test data and confidence ratings. We're targeting January 2004 for Phase I commercial release,” said Mark Atkinson, director of New Business Development with IHS Energy Canada .

“Integrating Rapid data with an industry leader like AccuMap is a big step forward for our company,” said Michael Jones, CEO of Rapid Technology. “Our accurate, confidence-rated pressure data is a valuable tool to meet the new standards of disclosure for booking reserves through the new NI 51-101.”

“With more than 300,000 wells and Rapid's information being updated weekly, AccuMap users will have access to another best-of-breed data set,” says Atkinson.

Accurate pressure data improves reservoir management and enables quick reviews of suspended wells and bypassed formations. The advantages of using this information include: identifying acquisition and divesture opportunities; assessing the reliability of material balance reserve numbers; improving economic analyses, compression and facility design, and timing of capital expenditures. The AOF ratings have a particular application in H 2 S release-rate assessments for critical well licence applications under the new petroleum code, Guide 56.

Rapid ( www.rapid.ca ) provides integrated software, data and engineering solutions for the petroleum industry. Rapid data is the only complete source of well test and pressure history data for Western Canada . The Rapid engineering team analyses and provides confidence ratings for quick determinations of data quality and reliability.
