IHS Energy Announces Newly Structured Consulting Division with New M.D. and Marketing Director
EPSOM, U.K. ( 8 October, 2003 ) - IHS Energy, the global source of oil and gas information, analytical software and consulting services, has restructured its consulting division to more closely align its services with client workflows and their evolving needs for insight and analysis. The company is increasingly focusing on ‘added-value expertise’ that allows its customers to make better and more extensive use of its global databases, its information services and its expertise.
IHS Energy has been active in the North American gas market and has developed successful consultancy and supporting models for a range of key business issues, including gas planning and asset optimisation. Other recent named successes include assisting majors operating in Angola in their compliance management as well as work for PetroChina.
Bob Lockwood, formerly a partner in PA Consulting, has been appointed new managing director for IHS Energy’s consulting division – the first ever appointment of a global consulting MD.
Nick Kamen, the newly appointed marketing director of the consulting division, joins him. Kamen moved from Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, where he was UK marketing director for the Technology & Consulting Division.
“IHS Energy has always had high-level expertise to assist our customers in all aspects of their business, from new ventures to planning. With customers facing increasing pressure on expertise, time and budgets, we wanted to focus our consulting operation so that we can assist in a structured way that is highly accessible and highly accountable,” said Lockwood.
“While other consulting companies can offer specialist services, none have expertise that is aligned with the breadth and depth of information we provide, which is based on a core business that ensures we are using the most current and comprehensive information available in the industry,” he said. “We have delivered essential E&P information to the industry for 75 years. Since we collect, standardize and manage the data ourselves, our consultants are uniquely positioned to interpret and analyse that data, to identify critical trends and, ultimately, to add tremendous value to our clients’ decision-making processes and their business.”
IHS Energy has also announced a major research and evaluation project, which will assess values, issues and challenges within the industry at the CEO level.
“Our strength is the deep and enduring relationships we build with our clients, and through this research program, we intend to collect and analyse the thoughts of key industry opinion leaders, which will serve as a catalyst for best practices on the issues that matter most to our clients,” said Kamen.
IHS Energy’s consulting division provides expertise spanning from new venture services, field development solutions, strategy consulting, asset operations, consulting through to training and support, regulatory compliance, and data and information systems consulting.
The re-structured consulting division will also help to offer increased value to key account customers including ChevronTexaco, Shell, BP, Exxon, Agip, Statoil, Lukoil, Petronas, the Japanese National Oil Company (JNOC) and ABN Amro.
